Our new Van

In December of 2004 my family and I were on our way to buy car insurance from a new insurance company. We were traveling westbound on 6th ave, a freeway, when some asshole in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee sideswiped us and drove off. The speed limit was 55 there and I was doing exactly that. In Colorado drivers are allowed to go 5 MPH above the posted speed limit. I had just merged into traffic and was still accelerating up to 60 when he hit us. He was doing approximately 90 MPH. He never stopped.

We were able to catch up to him, I was driving after all. We got his license plate number, make and model, and my wife got a good look at him before we turned off to get our insurance. He was talking on his cell phone and never noticed the impact. We reported the hit and run to the police.
The court date was the following June. It turns out that the jerk that hit us owns his own construction company. He was on the job when he hit us with his company vehicle. He took his lawyers advice and plead guilty with the condition that he pay us the $1579.05 in restitution damages.

Three days ago, a mere SEVEN MONTHS after he plead guilty, we finally received the restitution check. We loaded up the kids and headed down to Peak Kia on Wadsworth just north of Bowles.

We had gone to over twenty dealerships in the past two years trying to get rid of the car that we had forced on us by a shitty dealership from hell, Osborn Automotive. Vowing never to return to Osborn, we set out on a journey of a thousand miles to get rid of the POS that they foisted upon us. During our journey we had visited Peak Kia. While they still turned us down due to bad credit, the shitty trade in, and no money down, they did it gracefully, with class. They were so nice that we immediately thought of them now that we had a down payment of $1500 and nice jobs.

We still have bad credit. But with $1500 down, jobs that bring us $5200 gross a month, and only owing $4k on our POS, they were able to work with us. Work with us... boy is that a understatement. They put us in a 2004 Kia Sedona (minivan) LX (that mean LUXERY) with a mere 19k miles on it. This baby has a DVD player, sun roof, CD player, tape player, power everything, it the color we wanted, has tinted windows, cruise control, and power everything! It is still under the Kia warranty, 5 years and 60k miles bumper to bumper. Nice...

As an example of the exemplary customer service, please consider this. While my wife and I talked with the finance lady three of the salesmen played rollerchair with our kids. They did this while the Broncos were playing the Patriots in the Playoffs. They could have been watching the game on TV, listening to it on the radio, playing cards or just BSing each other. Instead they entertained a 4 year old and a 2 year old for most of the three hours that it took to buy the van. Ya, you read that right. It only took us three hours from the time that we pulled up until we left in our new van.

I cannot state how impressed we are with this dealership. It made a family used to rejection and bad service, with crap credit, feel like we had A class credit and money to burn. They treated us like we were special customers and like they were there simply to fulfill our needs. That's customer service.

If you are looking for a new vehicle, trust me, you can do a LOT worse than Peak Kia, but honestly, I don't thing that you could do better.
