The Gods of Creation

Here are some gods that I've been working on for the world that I'm creating. I'll update this as I go. Without further ado...

Talibiah (Tali) is the All Knowing. Tali is both Male (destroyer) and Female (creator) and has the power of life and death. The gender of the god is dependent on the worshipper's gender identification, which isn't always the same gender as the worshipper.
Tali is refered to as the Mother, the Creator, the Wise, and as the Taker, Death, Ol' Grim, and the All Knowing.

Tali is the Mother and Father of all the Gods... Which leads to some interesting inbreeding questions...

As a woman, Tali takes several forms; the child (approx 7 yrs, wearing a plain brown shift with a twig bearing small green leaves), the Maiden (young, beautiful, and ripe, perfect for child birth), and the Crone (old and wise, full of knowledge).

As a man Tali has been seen as a child (similar to the girl), the Warrior (a massive brute, w/ bulging muscles and body fur, stands 7' tall, carries a wooden staff), and a King (long flowing white beard, crown of black thorns on brow).

Tali represents the circle of life and thus has close ties with nature and the natural order of things. The servants of Tali are animals in form, intelligent but mortal. They have no supernateral attributes or powers other than intelligence. Most devout followers of Tali wish to be rewarded with an animal form upon their death.

Tali is about balance and will not respond to the prayers of it's worshippers unless it is in a cause to correct an imbalance. Some people are granted certain powers though.

Tali's most devout worshippers are nature lovers like Druids and Rangers...

Dalibor (Dali) is the 1st born son of Tali. Dali inhereted his aggressivenes from the male side of his parent. Dali can best be represented by the thought of undiluted testosterone. He is powerful, lazy, horny, aggressive to a fault, easily angered, and uncaring of other peoples feelings. He is the God of competition; this includes sports, battle, wild sex, male dominance, and anything else remotely competitive.

Dali is also known as the Reaper, the Warrior, the Strong, and the Man.

He looks like a mexican Brad Pitt (from Troy) with exagerrated male features (giant loincloth). He fights with an axe (because it's manly) and excell's at every form of combat and sport. He isn't stupid though, far from it. Mental games can be competitive as well (think chess) and he cherishes a good match. He doesn't gamble though, it's impossible to compete with luck.

Dali may grant an answer to prayers if a competition is rigged, or odds are against the devout.
He believes that people should compete in all things, but that the competition should be fair and balanced, allowing the best (man) to win. He is also the god of Justice, of the eye for an eye breed. He has no servants, believing them to be an unfair advantage. He does communicate directly to his worshippers though.

He grants powers related to his beliefs. His preists can spot any lies or falshoods for example.
Worshippers can be found in any competitve area across the land. Especially in sports and combat. He is also worshiped by all chauvanists...

Nayeli is the first born daughter of Tali. She is the epitome of all women. Beautiful and mercurial in tempermant, she embodies the feminine ideal. She is small and dainty, athletic and volumptious. She is the goddess of fertility, of creation, planting and love. She is known for her mercy, kindness, wild mood swings, and beauty. She has long black hair that hangs to her waist, black eyes, and perfect skin. She dresses as a gypsie might, in layered flowing scarves that almost reveal more than they conceal.

She is known as the Temptress, the Planter, the Handmaiden, the Bitch, Valkyrie, and Mother Nature.

She is an advocate of women's rights and supports female worshippers who show an independent streak. She is also the embodiment of the weather. Her wild mood swings are manifested in the severe weather changes and hurricanes that hit the islands on occasion.

While she supports and helps women in their plights, she loves men and loves to make love to them. She picks mortal men as her mate, often because of some endearing feature (like a sense of humor, nice eyes, or looks). She spend a night or two with the man and then moves along her way. Assuming that he survives the experience, the man will never find aother woman who can please him sexually until he finds his true love and devotes himself to her completely. Nayeli stays until her interest in the man wanes or until he cannot continue. Often, she gets pregnant from these encounters. Her army of half-mortal offspring serve her as servants and warriors.

As an advocate of women's right and equality to men, Nayeli is a warrior as fierce as her brother. She goes for the killing blow every time and shows mercy and compassion even on the field of battle. She leads her army of offspring into battle and weeps over every one of them that is killed.

She is worshiped by everyone, especially independent women, farmers and breeders, warriors going into battle, and those trying to procreate or to have a fun night.

Moana is the daughter of Nayeti and Dali. Moana is sexless but is generally refered to as female. All ocean going vessels are refered to as female as well. Moana is the the embodiment of the ocean. Moana has her father's strength and power as well as her mother's temper and mood swings. Unfortunately, she is incredibly lonely, having little to no contact with those who live outside of the ocean.

She is also known as the Great Deep, the Great Mystery, and the Gentle Giant.
Moana has never appeared to any of the land-bound races. She communicates through her friends and servents, creatures of the sea that are sentient. She cares little for mortals that do not live in water. She is mostly elemental in nature, but understands the law of eat or be eaten and thus does not have much of an problem with fishermen. She approves of those who dedicate their life to the sea and has a fondness for those who live and work alone (on the sea).

She is worshipped by everyone who lives or works on the ocean and by all sentient sea life.

Tali also gave birth to the eight elements:
Earth - 'Aina
Air - Polu
Fire - Fogo
Water - Kai
Time - Para Sempre
Chance - Ocasion
Love - Amor
Death/Spirit - Anima Morte

There are also the dragons. Animals whose proximity to and time with the gods have made them intelligent, even surpassing man. There are 6 known dragons, two each of good, neutrality, and evil. Each with it's own cult of followers.
