Cellular: a movie review.

After posting my review on Serenity I decided to review some of my other favourite movies. I'll start with Cellular, starring Chris Evans, Kim Bassinger, Jason Stathom, and William H. Macy.

The plot is simple, yet intriguing. A high school biology teacher (Kim Bassinger) is kidnapped. She has access to a smashed to pieces phone. Clicking wires together she is able to call a young man who she has never met. He blows her off at first as a crank call but quickly realizes that danger that she is in is real.

It becomes a race against time as the young man, Ryan (played by Chris Evans), fights to save first the teacher's son (and fails), and then the teacher's husband (and fails again).

The plot is very tight, the cast is superb, and the movie just plain rocks. This is a very fast-paced action oriented movie that avoids the summer popcorn fluff that is the main staple of moviegoers. This movies is intelligent, the dialogue is perfect, the acting is great, and Chris EVans and Jason Stathom are showing that they are actors well worth watching. This movie is great. "Nuff said...
