Damien Armel Kamara and Sabia Siofra Kamara

These are more character ideas for Eric's adventure.

Damien is a complete woodsman. He lives almost entirely in the forest with very little contact with others except for occasional forays into town for food and trade.

Damien's father, Armel, was one of the King's Foresters. Armel served the King well and spent most of his years in the wilds of the Northern Forest. There he met and befriended several solitary woodsfolk. Among the folk he met were an order of people called Druids. One of the Druids, a young girl named Riona, took an interest in the woodsman and they formed a friendship that grew stronger over time. Druids marry outside of their own cult and after several years, Armel Kamara and Riona Siofra wed.

They had twins. A boy which they named after his father, Damien Armel Kamara, and a girl, which they named according to the Druidic tradition after the mother, Sabia Siofra Kamara.
Damien and Sabia were taught from infanthood to live at peace with the forest and within nature. They were taught wood lore, herbs, anoimal lore, and other general woodscraft. It soon became apparent that each child took after their parent of the same sex. Damien showed little interest in the esoteric teachings of the Druids while Sabia loved the mysteries and magic of the Druids.

Damien has followed in his father's footsteps and plans to be accepted into the King's Foresters. Sabia meanwhile, has continued on in her studies with the Druids.

Damien and his father travel together, monitoring the activity of the creatures and men in the forest. They send infrequent reports to the King through the Messaging service in the towns that they visit. They have recently discovered that numerous Orc tribes have started gathering together in a large valley several miles north of the nearest human town. Other creatures, some which have a rivalry with Orcs, such as Hobgoblins and Bugbears, have been seen as well, coexisting peacefully with their neighbors.

Armel grew worried because of the numbers involved. It looked as if every evil humanoid creature in the mountains was gathering in this one location.

Armel was loath to send an incomplete report. He and Damien scouted the east side of the valley with no problem. Unfortunately, they were spotted while scouting out the west side of the valley.

They knew how important knowlege of the impending uprising was and split up to increase the chances of the message getting through. Damien was wounded early on and had to resort to traps and trickery in order to survive. He was hunted the entire 150 miles to the coast. There he made his stand, killing the last of his pursuers in a viscious struggle that left him barely alive.

Sabia had been training with the Druids. During an astral projection exercise she had discovered Damien running for his life. She imediately informed her mother who verified that both Armel and Damien were running for thier lives. Riona sent Sabia after Damien and left in pursuite of her husband after sending a warning to the Council of Druids.

Sabia caught up with Damien on the coast after his battle with the last of the Orcs. She knew that more orcs were on the way, secrecy being something that the humanoid army was counting on. She tended to Damien's many wounds and built a travois for him. She dragged him several miles to the nearest village over rough terrain, using all of her skills, tricks, and some help from her animal friends to hide their trail from the Orc Hunters.

The villagers didn't believe that the Orcs were a threat to the village. They did provide a small fishing boat in exchange for some money that Damien had on him. The twins sailed to the south in their fishing boat. A few hours after they had left, Sabia could see a pillar of smoke rising in mute testimony of the villages demise.

Several weeks later Sabia and Damien arrived at a small coastal town and made their way inland to the fortress city of Caspian. There, Damien made his report and received the medical attention that he needed.

As Armel rested up and healed, the Orc army ravaged Falconshead and Ironhold. Damien was enlisted and commisioned as one of the King's Forresters and assigned scouting duties for Lord Laban Ironhold and his son Mathew.

During the ensuing battles, Damien and Sabia showed their worth, dispatching their foes relentlessly. Sabia especially raised the men's morale, fighting alongside them whenever the enemy attacked and healing those wounded in battle. She made sure that the soldiers were well fed, and use Druidic magic to entangle and harrass her foes.

Damien hated the confines of the city after a lifetime in the forest and mountains. However, he hated the Orcs and others of their kind even more and showed a viscious and somewhat disturbing side to his personality. He was admired for his combat abilities and the men did respect him. But they thought him callous and uncaring because he showed no remorse when men died. They thought him a cruel and viscious warrior with no pity or remorse. It frightened them and it could be said that he had no friends and was close to no one but his sister.

Damien and Sabia made it out safely when the city fell. They split off from the main body of refugees, falling back and to the side to kill and harass the enemy as long as possible before being shut back up into the city.

They did eventually fall back into the capital city where they stayed and fought for months. Eventually, Lord Laban ordered them to take a boat of refugees and make passage to the emperor. Several people gave Sabia and Damien missives to carry to the Emperor detailing the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy to the emperor.
